A. Web Hosting is the of housing, serving, and maintaining of files for a Web site. In a sense, you rent space on a computer to hold your Web site. The company you choose to host your web site assigns an address (IP) to your domain name so that anyone can find your Web site on the Internet by typing in your domain name.

A. A domain is your identity on the web. - It will the address of your website e.g. www.something.com and the ending of your emails
e.g. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

When selecting a domain, make sure it is:
1. Easy to remember
2. Easy to spell without confusion
3. Relates closely to your business name or activity
4. Keep it as short as possible.


Q.  I have chosen a Domain Name, how can I see if it is available?

A. You can quickly check to see if a domain name is available at www.godaddy.com. Type the domain name you are interested in into the Domain Name Search box, including the extension, and then click Go. Godaddy will search to see if the name is currently available. If the domain name is already registered, you may want to try variations of the name.

Remember, the domain extension is part of the domain name—mydomain.com is not the same as mydomain.net.

Q. After I have registered a Domain Name what is the next step?

A. After registering your Domain Name you will need to point it to our web servers. This is accomplished by changing your DNS settings with the company you chose to register your Domain Name with.

After you have signed up for a website package you will receive an email detailing the DNS Server settings you will need to set based on your website package.
